We're taking this afternoon's boho vibes abroad with a little Moroccan wedding inspiration (it is International Weddings Week after all!). I'm ever so slightly obsessed with intricately designed Moroccan architecture and pieces for the home. So I figured, why not take some of these gorgeous ideas as inspiration for your wedding day? If Poppy Delevingne can do it, so can we!
I'm envisioning an outdoor ceremony and reception during a warm summer night. Elegant gold details, flickering candles in Moroccan lanterns and little pops of color are dotted here and there. To complete the feel, serve mint tea in elegant cups and serve a delicious Moroccan meal.
A great decor addition (or even a present for the newlyweds) would be a Moroccan wedding blanket. These blankets, typically made by Berber women in Northern Morocco, are made of sheep's wool, cotton and linen with hundreds of mirrored sequins sewn to them. Traditionally, female members of the bride's family will spend weeks making the blanket and, as they work, teach the bride-to-be about married life. After the wedding, the bride would tie the blanket around her neck to wear as a cape "to ward off evil and to bestow fertility and good luck upon the newlyweds". (As explained by Apartment Therapy)
We love the history behind the blankets, but if you're not much a sewer you can always buy one
